Good day! I have known for decades about the administrative hurdle of needing a visit from an occupational health and safety inspector to your home address to get permission to work from home. This inspector is supposed to repeat his visits every year and to do them unannounced! I see this more or less as a bureaucratic measure designed for its own sake, which, above all, hampers the very welcome initiative of getting people to concentrate more on the substance and benefits of their work, saving money on the journey to and from work, on parking and on many other things. As far as I know, practically every employee nowadays has a space that is suitable for doing his or her job, in our case, in this respect, an undemanding office job, in terms of security. The privacy of the home is protected not only by the Constitution, but also by a number of other applicable regulations. I believe that the danger to the worker at home is incomparably less than that in commuting traffic! Consequently, I propose that these compulsory visits by occupational safety inspectors be at least significantly reduced, and preferably abolished altogether.
