According to Article 22(3) of the Regulation on minimum technical conditions and scope of services for the catering business (Official Gazette of the Republic of Slovenia No 21/2014 of 28.3.2014), there must be one shower for every ten employees on a shift in the kitchen or food preparation area. At the time of the amendments to the Rules, several obligations regarding the time of serving food, the type of food, and the mandatory operation by day were removed. Despite the changes to the Rules, the above nonsensical requirement remains in the Rules. Under the current legislation, a caterer can only serve a few meals and only at certain times (e.g. 20 meals per day) and can only have one or two employees. In view of the above, I propose deleting some of the provisions of the Rules on minimum technical conditions and scope of services for the catering business which are unnecessary and unviable (shower in the kitchen or food preparation area, mandatory telephone connection to the network, required number of lockers per number of employees, required stage and separate dressing room for performers if the catering establishment provides mechanical/live music). Proposal for: Amendment of the Regulation on minimum technical conditions and scope of services for the catering trade.
