Hello. With the further recategorisation of the part of the H6 expressway between Koper and Jagodje to the category G2 main road announced, I propose that this road be completely abandoned as an expressway, as only 1,124 m of the original 8,310 m length remains in this category. I further propose that the Infrastructure Directorate of the Republic of Slovenia, as its new operator, immediately add a speed limit sign to the "road designated for motor vehicles" sign, setting the speed limit at 90 km, which is the maximum speed allowed on such a road according to the Road Act. Most domestic drivers are not aware of this, and foreign drivers are misinformed by signs on Slovenian roads about the limits and obligations when entering the country that the maximum speed limit is 100 or even 110 km/h. I call for their immediate replacement. I further propose that the procedure be started immediately to amend the Road Act so that the maximum speed limit on roads designated for motor vehicles is once again at least 100 km/h. In December 2015, a new/different definition of the sign indicating a road reserved for motor vehicles was established, as was the case until 2010 for (the same) roads reserved for motor vehicle traffic (as defined in the Road Safety Regulations). This brought to an end the interim period during which all motor vehicles, including tractors and motorised cultivators, were allowed to use these roads, and therefore there are no longer any road safety reasons to allow higher speeds on these roads again, given the improved technical features of these roads. This is confirmed by the case of the H6 road mentioned above, where the maximum speed limit, and therefore the capacity of the road, is being lowered solely because of its reclassification, and not because of the technical standards to which it was built.
