Hello. We would like to propose to the Commissioner that the Law on Kindergartens be amended accordingly to allow or more specifically encourage public-private partnerships in this area. At present, the legislation (Kindergartens Act) does not provide for/allow for public-private partnerships, despite the agreement or support of the municipality. Despite the fact that the company (g.d.) provides funds for capital maintenance and the building (since 1975, newly erected in 2007) in which the kindergarten is located (3 units, 50 children), the municipality provides funds for running costs and the programme. The legislation does not currently give priority to the employees of the DG for enrolment, nor is it possible to set a quota or a certain proportion of places for the children of employees. We would also like to highlight the case of the exception concerning the kindergarten in the student settlement, whereby those who do not live in the settlement and commute can also place their children in the kindergarten.
