Dear Sir or Madam! Recently we have received a number of appeals from our members, the ski associations, concerning the provisions of the Road Traffic Safety Act or the Regulation on special conditions for vehicles carrying groups of children. According to these provisions, the transport services provided by the associations for their own needs are on an equal footing with professional transport activities. The motor vehicle must be fitted with a tachograph and the driver must not carry out any other work during the working day in which he is transporting a group of children which could affect his ability to operate the vehicle safely (e.g. leading or participating in a sports practice or training session). These provisions are very strict for associations and make it very difficult for associations to provide transport, especially in the current economic situation. In the light of the above, we would ask you to consider the above provisions of the Act or the Regulations and to propose amendments to enable associations to provide transport under more acceptable conditions.
