My car was retrofitted with a towbar by an authorised company. I then had to go to the 'technical inspection' with this paper, where a man spent about 3/4 of an hour writing the papers, making a nice pile of them, and finally putting them all in a folder and archiving them permanently. We had fun throughout the whole process, of course, and he also mentioned that they had recently had a visit from an inspector who had ordered that one of the papers had too little information on it, so now that paper would be turned into four papers. It may be that the employee was exaggerating, but what I saw going on there was madness - behind a towbar that had already been fitted (by a state-approved installer), someone was fiddling for almost an hour with papers that do not add any extra security, but are merely copied from paper to database and from database to paper, which goes into a cupboard.
