The amendment to the Forest Act provides for transport tickets and a subsequent transport document. For the purposes of legality checks under the EU995/2010 Directive, it is sufficient to check forest owners on the legality of the harvesting by decision, but all subsequent transports should have a transport document, for which it would be sufficient to have the prescribed content and not the form. This means that the waybills and all the costs that this entails would be abolished. The costs, particularly with labour, are not small. Now is the time to find a reasonable optimisation and not to require more than the EU regulation prescribes. After all, it says in the regulation that there must be no new and, above all, unnecessary costs with implementation.
