Hello. I would like to present the activities of CSD Ptuj, which takes a good month to establish lack of competence in decision-making in relation to social assistance (application sent to CSD Ptuj on 22.7.2013, CSD Gornja Radgona received the withdrawal of the application only on 3.9.2013). According to the law, within a month of receipt of the application, it should have already issued a decision, not to determine whether it is competent, but only after my inquiry about what is happening, things have shifted. This is not the first case, as most of the applications I have made to them since I was a student have never been resolved in the first instance in accordance with the law and I have always been able to settle everything by appealing to the second instance. Because I know that I am not an isolated case and I have helped many people who, for one reason or another, have found themselves in need because of the recession, the CSDs are not doing their job as they should. Sometimes it is enough for a person to get some social assistance and to be able to look for a new job, because I do not think it is in anyone's interest to live on EUR 260 or less, especially if they have children like me. When I am physically present, I very often see unprofessional work by people working in CSDs, with the exception of course of those who go out of their way to help you because they see the plight of their fellow citizens. Most of the workers do not have basic computer skills, although as far as I know the state always spends a lot of money on training its staff, because as a student I worked both in the municipalities and in the DURS-U, where they were constantly attending new seminars to improve the functioning of the institution. Personally, I will be able to solve my problem, but I do not care about my fellow human beings who cannot find help and are forced to live. I hope that the Minister will succeed in achieving his objectives of reducing bureaucracy and improving the skills of public sector employees in reality and not just on paper.
