ATA Carnet - a document used for the temporary export of goods (trade fairs, research equipment, educational materials, etc.). It is issued by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (http://www.gzs.si/slo/skupne_naloge/javna_pooblastila/ata_zvezk). It is absurd that to "purchase" this document, they require an application to be filled in with the same information that the applicant has to re-enter in the ATA carnet, i.e. the exporter enters it twice. Worse still, the same data (which is not scarce, so the border procedure takes a considerable amount of time) is manually re-entered into the Customs system at the border twice - when leaving the SLO and again when entering the SLO. Croatian customs, for example, only enters them once, and only marks them in the computer on return or transit.
