Hello!I got married when I was 23. I was a full-time student. I had to opt out of my parents' compulsory health insurance and register with my husband (who was working on a contract basis). I had to produce my marriage certificate and my school certificate as a matter of urgency. This year, my husband had to open a sole proprietorship and went to the Health Insurance Institute in Ljubljana at the beginning of July with the forms already prepared in advance to arrange his insurance. He needed an extract from Ajpes. When he arrived, he found out that the forms he had (they had been downloaded from the internet two days earlier) were old, as there were new ones. So he had to prepare the file again. However, this is not a cause for my disappointment. He had to deregister me as his wife (because I still had student status) as a natural person and re-register me under himself as a sole trader. Unfortunately, he did not have his marriage certificate, which is NOT MORE THAN ONE MONTH OLD, with him and he could not get this sorted out. So a visit to the administrative office was necessary, where the certificate was copied with a fresh date. That was how he was able to sort out my application. Two months later I got a job and my husband had to go back to the Health Insurance Fund so that he could de-register me. Isn't it logical that with every new registration, the de-registration is automatically done???? And this filling in of forms???? Apart from the fact that, because I got married, I had to pay for my own supplementary health insurance - because by law my husband was not allowed to claim me under the supplementary insurance, only under the compulsory insurance - I am extremely frustrated with the lengthy procedure to get myself insured. I hope that in future the procedures will be better supported by IT. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share my experience with you and, in the hope that the system will be improved, best regards, Ljubljana, 27.1.2012
