Hello, I have had a lot of fun with public offices in the last month, especially when it comes to getting information on what is needed to carry out certain procedures. For a question to the Tax Administration on which value is taxed when importing a vehicle, I had to explain the whole story to several (eight) people, only to be subsequently found out by the eighth person to have been told the wrong story. My partner is from abroad, from the European Union, and wants to acquire temporary residence as he is a co-owner of a property here. Of course it is not easy, as the lady clerk demands that despite the bank statements (turnover on the account) being handed over, the document is translated into Slovenian and stamped by the bank and after several hours of calls I finally get a reply from the Ministry of the Interior that the PRINT from the online bank is enough for them. And nowhere in Europe do they use stamps anymore, only here. Who in this country makes the laws and demands in the end, and why do I, as a taxpayer, pay people who, instead of helping me to resolve the matter, end up weighing me down with unnecessary demands and wasting my time and, consequently, the money that I spend going around and making calls? I think that every question should be answered in writing, signed and then held to account, and then perhaps we would do our job more conscientiously and responsibly.
