The Job Centre operates very uneconomically when dealing with clients. It is unnecessary to book clients, as people who are actively looking for a job come to the Job Centre more often than they are booked, while inactive people could come to the Job Centre, for example, once every 6 months. Too much paper is used in client work. The Job Plan is printed on as many as 4 pages, even though most of the information is unchanged and has been included in previous Job Plans. If anything, only a short document with the changes should be issued. However, if a jobseeker is to take part in an activity, he or she is given an invitation to that activity on a separate sheet at the same time as the Job Plan - even though the activity could already be listed in the Job Plan. Even in cases where this is the case, it is not clear why a separate invitation letter is needed. So the jobseeker gets 3 A4 sheets, the other three are left at the Job Centre, even though everything is already listed in the computer. So 6 sheets for one visit to the counsellor. As there are many clients and each counsellor has several clients per day, this behaviour is an irrational use of paper and energy. I propose a more economical way of doing things, which will reduce the cost of doing business, but will also be more ecologically and socially responsible.
