As proposed long ago, the government should increase social transfers to €288 for those currently receiving social assistance to €230 per month and increase permanent social assistance to €450 per month. The government promised that social transfers would be increased on 1 July this year, but unfortunately nothing has happened. Now the government has changed its mind again and changed the date from 1.1.2011 to 1.6.2011. Since the government is always postponing dates and misleading citizens and giving them false hope that things will be better for once, I suggest that the government stick to the date and adopt the proposal to increase social assistance from 1 January 2011 and not 1 June 2011, because we have waited long enough for positive changes, If the government can find money for Greece in its budget, it will also find money for the average Slovene who is out of work.
