I propose that road transit traffic for freight vehicles through Slovenia be banned by law and that the use of rail transport be made compulsory. Heavy goods vehicles are causing more and more congestion on the roads, are involved in more and more accidents, destroy road surfaces and pollute the environment. I understand that there are plans to lower the speed limit for vehicles because of the increased concentration of MP10 particles. I believe that it is freight traffic that is the much bigger polluter here. The RS would benefit a lot from the introduction of a regulation on the use of rail transport, which would apply to transit freight (lower road maintenance costs, growth in rail traffic, fewer accidents, smoother traffic, less pollution, etc.).
