Following the example of most more developed countries, I suggest that the Republic of Slovenia should change the rules/laws/etc. to allow and prefer cyclists riding side by side. The following should be implemented: cyclists can cycle side by side on roads, with a maximum distance between cyclists of 1.5m, and as the road surface does not allow cars to overtake safely, cyclists must form a column. The reasons for this are given below: riding in pairs significantly increases the visibility of cyclists on the road, which significantly reduces the possibility of being involved in a traffic accident, depending on the situation, it forces motor vehicle drivers to slow down and wait for a safe overtaking opportunity, as they would do in the case of a tractor or a slow-moving car. This measure reduces "forced" overtaking, which is dangerous for cyclists and other road users, the overtaking distance of motor vehicles is halved: 10 cyclists in a column means 10 m of overtaking distance, while 10 cyclists riding in pairs means only 5 m of overtaking distance. Overtaking times and accident risks are therefore reduced.
