I propose that the use of the overtaking lane by goods vehicles (of all types and capacities) and buses be absolutely and unconditionally banned on the entire motorway network in Slovenia.
This measure is important from the point of view of road safety, especially when there is congestion on the motorway and the creation of a free lane for emergency vehicles. During critical seasonal peak periods, such a measure would also increase traffic flow, as lorries in the passing lane drastically reduce traffic flow.
I would like to emphasise that the mandatory safety distance - the gap in the queue of freight vehicles travelling in the passing lane - should, in my opinion, be at least 200m, which would allow traffic to flow smoothly, economically and more safely, and also allow us to merge onto the motorway.
