I call on the government to protect the country from pollution caused by through freight traffic on the AC, in the same way as neighbouring Austria and Hungary have done. In Austria, the driving ban for lorries over 7.5 tonnes applies from 15:00 on Saturday until 22:00 on Sunday, and in Hungary from 22:00 on Saturday until 22:00 on Sunday. In addition, in Austria, traffic is banned for lorries below the EURO 1 and EURO 2 emission classes on all routes where traffic of obsolete lorries from Eastern European countries is expected (from the direction of Vienna towards Graz and Salzburg respectively).
Compared with A and HU, the RS Government has not taken the least care for the health of its citizens, since it has a regime for restricting freight traffic that is comparable in Europe perhaps only with Moldova. I therefore propose to the Government that it immediately:
Remind the Government that the proposed measure is not contrary to EU law and that it can give a substantive response to the proposal.
