I propose that, at least in road transport, if not in all modes of transport (sea, air and rail - (passenger, freight, passenger...)), we introduce the payment of CO2 emission coupons for the emissions we produce by these means. A "tax" on personal car transport alone would not be excessive, since the average car user consumes around 1 400 kg of fuel for 20 000 km, releasing around 4 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere, which would amount to €80 per year, if we assume that the price of the voucher is €20 per tonne of CO2 emitted. This is mainly about the state getting money from those who have it and who are willing to pay for transport, which is not a necessity of life but a pure luxury.
