As we all know, the amendment to the law introducing compulsory registration and roadworthiness tests for vehicles up to 25 km/h (I won't go into definitions here) has already been approved and will enter into force next year. In all this, however, they (we) have forgotten, or at least I have not seen it anywhere, that most people have bought motorcycles with a 25km/h lock precisely to avoid the need for registration, helmets and other things that otherwise belong to other motor vehicles. If that had not been the case then, there probably would not have been many of us who would have bought a motorcycle with a speed limit, bought a normal motorcycle or a normal scooter that just goes its factory 50 km/h and then some, bought a helmet and registered the thing. Now we are in the position of owning a vehicle with a 25km/h lock and all the other obligations of those who own such vehicles without lock. I call on the Government to regulate the possibility of motorcycles, motor-driven bicycles, scooters, whatever you want to call such vehicles, being officially and legally converted back to the standard factory setting, without a speed lock - so that the lock can be legally removed. I have read somewhere that such a conversion cannot be homologated at the moment. I hope it's understandable what I'm suggesting, it's really ridiculous that I have a 25 that I bought just so I don't need a helmet and registration, and now I'm going to have a 25 with a helmet and registration, just like all those people who are going to go past me at 50 km/h.
