Dear Sir or Madam! I propose that a long-term sustainable financing plan for the renewal of all railway infrastructure in Slovenia be adopted. In recent years, many plans, studies and feasibility studies have been adopted, but no new constructions have been carried out on the core railway network, with the exception of the Pragersko - Hodoš section. The projects have stalled due to lack of financial resources and political will. As I believe that it is also in your interest to work for the benefit of the citizens and the country, I call on you to consider as soon as possible possible ways of financing the renewal of the railway infrastructure in Slovenia (mandate contract with DARS, borrowing, petrol cent, luxury tax, tax on transit road freight traffic?). For example, the Ljubljana - Sežana line will be even more congested in the future due to freight traffic from the Port of Koper, and it will also be connected to the future high-speed line from Trieste (250 km/h). The line has geometrical elements and speed limits from the 19th century and is not worthy of the title of a modern traffic artery. I suggest that a reconstruction plan for speeds up to 160 km/h be adopted as soon as possible and that tenders be put out for tender. I believe that SŽ cannot afford to wait until 2050 for a complete reconstruction. The line is designed in two variants. The work of Gregor Rakar from the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Geodesy is excellent (http://drugg.fgg.uni-lj.si/270/1/GRU_2845_Rakar.pdf). I suggest that the PZI is adopted on the basis of this and that the reconstruction goes ahead as soon as possible. Kind regards.
