Hello. Unfortunately, road safety in Slovenia is very poor. The reason for this is largely the citizens themselves, because we do not follow the rules of safety, and the innocent are the ones who suffer the most. The reasons for the 'accidents' are alcohol, excessive speed and the use of the telephone while driving. The police are trying to improve road safety through various campaigns and their work, but unfortunately this is not enough. My proposal to the government and those responsible for road safety is as follows. To install 10 000 stationary radars (empty) all over Slovenia, and to have as many active radars as possible, or as many as possible, and, of course, the locations of the active radars change all the time, so that road users never know where they are being watched by an active radar. Wherever there are fixed radars, road users obey the speed limit, but only where there is a risk of a penalty. This would, in my opinion, make a major contribution to road safety. The second proposal is the compulsory installation of a hands-free system for use while driving. The third proposal concerns the presence of alcohol while driving. The proposal is quite simple. Anyone who drives under the influence of alcohol is liable to the most serious possible penalty, such as the withdrawal of their driving licence and their vehicle. The vehicle is taken away regardless of ownership, which means that the driver is responsible for his or her own actions and is liable with all his or her property. However, the police do not announce 0.0 per millilitre campaigns, but carry them out unannounced all the time. These are proposals that would significantly reduce the number of road accidents on Slovenian roads and would stop the carnage on our roads. In the first half of this year, 70 people have already died on the road. Do you not think that this is too much and that we need to take some more serious measures than the current ones? Greetings.
