I propose that the level of penalties be changed for all those who are not disabled but who shamelessly park in parking spaces marked for disabled people. The fine should be drastic, e.g. €5,000 - then surely no one will even think of parking their car in such places anymore. In addition to public car parks, all parking spaces in front of shopping centres and elsewhere should also be included in the category of parking spaces in question. All the car parks in question should be marked with signs clearly indicating the amount of the penalty for incorrect parking. The current legislation in this area is ridiculous. Not only are the penalties for the offences in question too low, but there is also no supervision, either in public or in other car parks. The above-mentioned proposal - that is, the level of fines and penalties in all areas, public and private, where disabled parking spaces are marked - would solve the problem, which is currently unsolvable due to complacent drivers, in a short space of time.
