I propose that the government abolish the privileged position of landlords who live from renting out property. They do not pay any pension and disability insurance contributions, even though they carry on business like any other sole trader, limited company or full-time employee. We are all forced to pay high pension contributions which, of course, do not accumulate in our account but are immediately transferred to the pensions of current pensioners. This is not the case for landlords, who are not obliged to pay any contributions or can save for their own pension instead of paying for the pensions of others. In my view, the arrangement is unconstitutional, as it puts landlords in a privileged position compared to others who are in business. I therefore propose to the Government that the activity of renting out immovable property can only be carried out by a sole trader who pays full contributions to the pension and invalidity insurance scheme.
