Hello, In our small country, there are many young people who do not want to work or who work illegally and receive social assistance at the same time. That is why I would introduce community service, which social assistance beneficiaries would have to do for 4 hours every weekday, and the next 4 hours would be enough for job searches and interviews. Except, of course, for those for whom no suitable work can be found (the elderly, the disabled, the sick, etc.). Because I believe that this measure would reduce the number of unemployed, increase the quality of life (a tidier environment, public areas, playgrounds, etc.), increase the sense of public ownership, retraining could be organised in this public works programme (e.g. painter, etc.), the unemployed would keep in touch with the working environment in such a programme, and the impact of long-term unemployment would be lost.... And the state would also get something for the money it pays into the accounts every month. I know that I am going to get comments now, I have too much education and I am not going to do it. I will give you an answer straight away. FOR SOMEONE WHO IS REALLY IN NEED OF SOCIAL ASSISTANCE, THERE IS NO JOB THAT THEY WILL NOT DO! And in this way there would also be more money to go to those who really need it (the elderly, the sick, the disabled, etc.), who are also, in my opinion, the only beneficiaries of long-term social assistance. L.P.
