I propose to legislate to tax the activities of all religious communities and to put them on an equal footing with others. I am referring here only to the tax on income from activities such as services, funerals, communions, confessions, etc. Why tax religious communities? In Slovenia, according to some data, there are over 1 000 priests of the Roman Catholic Church who daily perform masses, funerals, communions, etc. And they charge large sums for each of these things. For example, if each priest charged only €20 per day, the VAT on this would be €4.4, which is €4,400 per day for all priests, and €1,606,000 per year. But consider that just one funeral costs more than €20, and then there are the other activities. All of us who are engaged in the activity pay tax, why shouldn't a big "company" like the church? The money raised could be used to provide funds in those areas where it is desperately needed. Lp Matej
