I suggest introducing a reduced tax on Slovenian food products, e.g. the good old 20%, which should be reflected in a lower price of the products, at the expense of the retail chain, while at the same time increasing the tax on imported products to 25%. It would also be appropriate to have a separate arrangement of products on the shelves, e.g. Slovenian products (the most physically accessible) on the middle shelf, branded products of individual chains on the bottom shelf and foreign products where they remain, on the higher shelves. This is because a regional, local and national orientation needs to be instilled, while at the same time moving away from the consumerist notion of shopping as a symbol of social quality, as well as an awareness that the emphasis on products being as close to their origin as possible is important not only for the national economy, but also for an environmentally friendly attitude and sustainable development.
