It is utter nonsense to pay tax on hardware (e.g. computer disks) and recording media (DVD, CD) to SAZAS because someone might be illegally copying (I don't know who would want to copy most Slovenian production). Either way, this is the most unfair and unreasonable tax in Slovenia. At the same time, it makes computer hardware in particular more expensive and, as a consequence, hampers technological development. Instead of abolishing the tax and encouraging this technological development, we are supporting some weirdos. If this donkey shadow tax is not abolished, then I propose that all Slovenians be sent lump sums at the beginning of the year for all sorts of bullshit, regardless of whether anyone does it. Why limit ourselves to copying copyright content? If anyone is interested, I think it is written in the Copyright and Related Rights Act (ZASP-UPB3), Article 37. This article is the height of Bhutanese legislation in Slovenia.
