I propose that compulsory community service be introduced for all recipients of social assistance. If you are unemployed, you can get social assistance as you do now, but you have to "serve" the community for a certain amount of time (e.g. 20 hours/week), and at the same time, of course, you have to actively look for a job. This way, people would not feel excluded and isolated and would remain in a "working rhythm". since they have to work for this money, they would also be more motivated to look for another source of income, i.e. a regular job, which has the advantage that it also comes with a pension scheme. I myself am a recipient of social assistance and I know that after a certain period of time without a job you become listless and passive, and when you go for a job interview,... I would prefer to work a few hours a day (outside the home, although I don't run out of work here either) and feel good that I have earned the money.
