Students who complete their first Bologna degree on time in June will, if they apply for the second Bologna degree, have their health insurance extended until the end of September, when the result of their enrolment is known. Reason: The most diligent students who pass all their exams and requirements on time now lose their health insurance on the day of the last exam of the first Bologna degree (3rd year) in the June term and have to pay for it themselves from that day on. If they are not so diligent and (e.g. calculatingly) finish in September, their insurance runs until then. Just as students automatically have health insurance until the end of September when they enrol in a college or university after secondary school, students in the third year of their first Bologna degree should have the same right, namely health insurance until the end of September if they apply for the second Bologna degree. At present, these students are unequal before the law for a similar status. Moreover, BECAUSE THEY WERE THE BEST IN THE YEAR, THEY ARE PUNISHED and have to pay for the health insurance from the date of the last exam ON THEIR OWN. When the results of the application for the non 2nd bachelor degree become available, it is understandable that at that time (since the university does NOT carry out this process before) we cannot ask them to provide proof of enrolment either. Since many publicly available and statistical data show that the young generation is already less protected than older generations in terms of both unemployment and protection of rights at work (temporary employment, working through one's own sole proprietorship or company, etc.), this is a MINIMUM sign that the BEST young people are not being punished for their achievements.
