The conditions for becoming a farmer are quite strict - among other things, you have to prove that you have an annual turnover of at least 2/3 of your average annual salary. Once a person becomes a farmer, he or she retains farmer status until death, even if he or she ceases to farm the day after becoming a farmer. Of course, all the benefits remain - from pre-emption rights to significantly lower pension and health insurance contributions than those paid by employees and the self-employed. I propose to the Government that the conditions for the status of farmer be checked annually and that the status be withdrawn the first time the conditions are not met.
