I suggest that the government might consider in this direction that social assistance recipients should also have to do something to receive cash social assistance. It is not logical that many people do not lift a finger and receive EUR 260.00 a month. Of course, they should also be entitled to reimbursement of travel expenses and meals when they do some work. I am thinking in particular of those who have no assets and will not be paying back social assistance in any case.
That way, the unemployed would always be in contact with work, and they would also have a better chance of being introduced to an employer who might later employ them.
I read a lot about how many complaints there are about uncleared roads, pavements caused by the abundance of snow. Why are the unemployed not sent out to shovel, so that at least we know why they are earning the EUR 260.00 a month? I would no longer give social assistance to someone who does not lift a finger. Especially in a crisis like the one we are in.
