The Church is always teaching the need to help others, while they themselves are always running away from any control over their finances. Thus they are the only legal entity that does not have to pay taxes, and now, according to their statement "The Church notes that parishes do not have the money to pay the tax", the state is going to cough up and give in to them again. Why do they always have to be privileged in Slovenia? It is important to realise that the church has the largest capital in Slovenia, but we are not able to collect any tax from it. How many buildings there are, how much they are worth, how many forests there are. There is enough of everything, we just need to behave more economically. In our parts of the world, we need to organise a campaign to rebuild the church, the wood is given by the people who have the forests (read farmers), while the churches are left untouched. Just for comparison. The Evangelical Church is organised a little differently from the Roman Catholic Church. There it is a separate legal entity, which does not collect a collection, but you join the church as an association and you pay a membership fee for that. And you pay tax on that membership fee. Fair enough not...... Personally, I think that the church should also be included in property taxation. What is your opinion?
