I propose that the Employment Service be abolished irrevocably. This institution is only there to employ between 500 and 999 civil servants. Despite this institution, the number of unemployed is increasing unstoppably. The Employment Service does not bring any added value. The unemployed are looking for work themselves anyway. The Job Centre's counsellors do not help the unemployed to look for a new job. We know that jobs in Slovenia can only be obtained through connections and acquaintances. Most of the jobs advertised have already been offered/negotiated in one way or another. It has happened before that the Employment Service has sent an older unemployed person to a job that did not suit him/her (e.g. striptease, etc.) and then removed the person from the register because he/she did not want to do the job. In this case, the institution deliberately sent the person to a job which it knew in advance that he would refuse. The staff of the establishment are mainly engaged in administrative work which does not bring any benefits. The Employment Service is only useful for those who are employed there, so that they have a regular job. These employees also artificially reduce official unemployment by removing unemployed persons from the unemployment register. In this way, the number of employed persons is not increased and the social distress of the unemployed is not alleviated. The employees of the Employment Service should share the fate of those employed in the economy. If the number of jobs in the economy is falling, the number of people employed by the Employment Service should fall by the same percentage.
