Dear Sir or Madam! I am one of those of us who have invested all our salary savings in real estate. My parents worked in education, they did not get credit, and needless to say, a good part of their savings was "eaten up" by the inflation of the time, and so they paid off the credits of those who got them. The State did not know about credit revaluations, preferring to reward those who had the possibility of taking out credit and to punish those who did not. With great difficulty, my parents bought a small property with an old house and two dilapidated rooms in old Ljubljana, which my now-deceased father and I converted into an apartment with our own funds. These properties mean a lot to me, but there are also a lot of maintenance costs. After twenty years of service, I bought another apartment, where I now live. I am horrified to find that the state will punish me for "squatting" with high taxes in the sense of "you have and give to those who have not".No one asks how someone has acquired something, the idea that goods should be shared with those who do not have them is still ingrained. Who creates them and how, like a widow, is irrelevant. Why is it that for so long after independence we have been following the mindset of the previous regime that everything is common , that we should share according to need and not create and act and think ahead.Should I now be sorry that my parents and I did not spend our money on holidays, trips and pubs as the state is trying to tell us by taking such action? The proposed tax of 0.2 to 2.5% of the value of the property is absolutely too high. I propose a uniform tax of 0.15% of the market value of the property, if its value does not exceed EUR 250000. For properties worth more than that, however, the tax rate should be higher. For some reason unknown to me, the State has waived the tax on the sale of motor vehicles. I propose that all motor vehicles should be taxed. The tax should be based on the value of the vehicle according to the Eurofax valuation, i.e. the market value of the vehicle, and not on any other criteria, and should be paid on registration or sale. otherwise, the compulsory insurance of the vehicle is in a sense already a tax on the State, which is collected by the insurance company.
