It is a great shame in this country of ours that we citizens have to raise money to help the poorest through various charity campaigns, such as this one: www.zurnal24.si/mamica-se-je-sesula-od-srecetreba-je-zumbul-rascvjetaa.... Article 2 of the Constitution of the Republic of Slovenia stipulates that Slovenia is a welfare state, which I understand to mean that the state must provide for the social well-being of every citizen. In a truly social state, there should be no need for charity campaigns, because the state should take care of all its citizens so that they have the means to survive, not leave them in insecurity and hopelessness. I therefore propose that measures be taken to ensure that every citizen of the Republic of Slovenia has a decent livelihood for all those who want to work (those who are able to work but cannot get a job because of systemic irregularities, and also those who do have a job but are not adequately paid for it) and those who are unable to work, without having to ask for help from charities or even for humanitarian aid, as if they were in Africa.
