Ladies and Gentlemen, First of all, I should like to apologise that the subject may not be one of these times when we are looking for ways out of financial, social and other difficulties, but I would nevertheless like to appeal to the government to perhaps consider the problem described below. I am a great motoring enthusiast and, as such, I would like to have a certain legendary vehicle, but unfortunately it is too young to be considered a vintage car and, at the same time, it is too old (EURO 1 engine) to be imported and registered in Slovenia under the current legislation. I am aware that certain restrictions on the import of second-hand vehicles are necessary to prevent Slovenia from becoming a dumping ground for used vehicles from Western Europe, but on the other hand I am convinced that it would be necessary to define certain specific cases in which the import and registration of special/rare vehicles in Slovenia would be possible. Justifying the import ban from an ecological point of view (I am very ecologically aware) is, in my opinion, pointless, as such vehicles are used by enthusiasts only on special occasions or for Sunday trips, and do not represent a critical mass of vehicles in daily traffic. On the other hand, there are many vehicles driving around Slovenia today that leave behind stinking and thick clouds of exhaust fumes, which one wonders how they managed to pass the roadworthiness test in the first place. Vehicles that cannot be imported and registered in Slovenia at the moment are, for example: the Lancia Delta Evoluzione, the Ford Escort Cosworth, the Toyota Celica GT-four, the Porsche 993, and soon (with the increase in the age limit for vintage cars to 30 years) the BMW E30 M3,... In conversations on foreign forums, people simply cannot believe that such legendary vehicles can no longer be registered in Slovenia. In Canada, for example, they can only import a used vehicle when it is over 15 years old. Legendary vehicles become part of our cultural and technical heritage over time, and I appeal to the Government to consider introducing a legal basis to allow the import of special vehicles. Such legislation already existed some time ago. And I ask you, the users of the portal I propose to the government, for your support, so that maybe my wish/proposal reaches the vehicle enthusiasts on the government side too... Thank you very much and best regards!
