I propose that the government/parliament substantially reduce the DMV, the increase of which has had the opposite effect.
The decline in sales of more prestigious vehicles and motorcycles is enormous, so the State receives ridiculous amounts from the DMV, and at the same time it receives considerably less from the VAT, as such vehicles are hardly sold any more.
The latest revision of the DMV has even led to the destruction of sales of motorcycles over 1000 cc, and at the same time entrepreneurs who would have bought a more prestigious vehicle in Slovenia have started to open businesses abroad in large numbers and to buy and register vehicles there.
The DMV does not stimulate sales, nor does it generate revenue for the economy, nor taxes for the budget.
