I propose to the government to introduce voluntary taxes that would not be compulsory for citizens and that each citizen would pay freely alongside income tax. This would be one of the measures that we could take to help reduce the deficit. I propose the following voluntary taxes: - a religious tax of 1% (the citizen can decide for himself to which religious community he will give his tax: to all, Roman Catholic, Muslim, Protestant, etc.). - a sports tax of 1% (this would be used to fund athletes representing Slovenia abroad) - a cultural tax of 1% (to fund cultural associations) - Science tax 1% (for the development of science) - Education tax 1% (to promote education) - tax for development 1% (the citizen can decide for himself which part of science he will give: to all, health, tourism, infrastructure, army) I will give you an example. In one year, the state collects 20 million EU for culture, which means that it can spend 20 million less money from the budget. This would be a very fair system, because the citizens would be able to decide where part of the income tax they pay goes. I ask the Government and the users to support my proposal, otherwise to give me counter-arguments as to why my proposal is not suitable for further consideration. Kind regards
