The proposal is linked to the austerity proposal... In short, we citizens of Slovenia are spending more than we earn. On the one hand, this is a good thing, because the wheel is turning; edges are being bought, new ones are being made, food is being produced... For example, about 25% of the pork we buy is produced in Slovenia, the rest is imported. Who is the biggest consumer? Small people, farmers, workers, the lower and middle classes... The upper classes stand out here, because they are the ones who buy rare but expensive material goods (luxuries). If the lower and middle classes "skin" themselves for a few €10, consumption falls. The cost of living rises, while incomes, pensions, aid, benefits are reduced or even abolished. Some savings are indeed made, but the crisis is only just beginning; retailers sell less, resulting in redundancies; manufacturers produce less because consumption is lower - less consumption and redundancies. Some savings have indeed been made, but the damage is greater than the savings... in the long run. The Slovenian nation is far from modest...there is not a bad vehicle on the roads, 85% of the population are property owners, the standard is at a level... In Germany a CEO can build/buy a house, here the average citizen has a house+weekend.... Thank God for socialist Yugoslavia! The cycle of consumerism must not stop, as all development stops. The government must not allow this if it wants good for the country.
