I propose that leasehold land managed by the Agricultural Land and Forests Fund of the Republic of Slovenia be sold to leaseholders under incentive conditions. Reasons: - Some land has been leased for decades or has not been used by the State for decades, - the land is of poorer quality and its wider and planned cultivation is not economically viable, - leaseholders will no longer be worried about renewing their leases and will invest more and more as owners, further contributing to rural development and the preservation of the natural heritage, - with additional investments, they have more possibilities to grow (organic) food for their own needs - the need to obtain social transfers is reduced, - additional liquidity for the State, - the State shows that it cares about the "little" people, - new owners of leased land are also liable if a property tax is introduced.
