I propose to the Government of Slovenia to abolish once and for all the reimbursement of travel expenses to and from work. Everyone wrote their own job application. Employees pay their own travel costs to and from work. The exception is temporary transfers, where the employer is obliged to reimburse the cost of transport. I explain this by the fact that some people commute from Maribor to Postojna. It would be cheaper for them to rent a family flat in Postojna, or for the state to give them a company flat for the duration of their service. Then I hear that some people use the transport to improve their salary. With the money saved on travel expenses, we can realise the third and fourth salary adjustments for civil servants. That is, we increase salaries, we increase contributions to the pension, health and tax coffers. Commuting should be rationalised, especially in the police and the army. A police officer or soldier commutes from Murska Sobota to Postojna every day to work. This is nonsense and throwing money out of the window. We will get nowhere that way. More travel costs than the amount of the salary. At the same time, the worker is practically tired when he arrives at work, as if he had already been working for two or three hours.
