The sale of used cars is widespread in Slovenia. That's why we have many dealers, car dealerships or brokers who are engaged in this activity. There have been countless stories of cars being sold with backwards odometers, and probably every Slovene knows someone or has been ripped off by a dealer, which causes great dissatisfaction, because a car is not a small expense. Therefore, I suggest to the current Government or the competent Minister to change the law or the regulations covering technical inspections of vehicles only to the extent that, at each technical inspection or renewal of the vehicle registration, the mileage on the vehicle on the day of the technical inspection should be recorded on the certificate or, better still, on the vehicle registration licence. This small measure would significantly reduce the possibility of consumers being misled when buying second-hand vehicles, especially those older than 4 years (after 4 years from the 1st reg, the vehicle passes the 1st MOT test). Greetings!
