I propose that the Government amend the Agricultural Land Act to abolish compensation for change of use of agricultural land for residential purposes. I am proposing this amendment because I consider the compensation to be very high and rather pointless, because even if a person develops, for example, only 350 m2 (a building, a car park, a driveway), he has to pay compensation for the whole plot, even if the whole plot is not developable. Another important fact is that since the tax was adopted, far fewer building permits have been issued, because people simply do not have the money, which in turn puts municipalities at financial risk, as they do not receive the money (municipal contribution).
