I propose that the Employment Service be abolished or that the staff be restructured into more productive work. For many years now, we have seen that there is absolutely no benefit from the Employment Service. Employers could post new jobs on the website themselves, the unemployed are looking for work themselves anyway, the job counsellor is of no (concrete) help anyway, some people do not even know about education and the possibility of getting a job with a certain qualification. We know that 75% of the jobs advertised are already filled/negotiated anyway. Unfortunately, taxpayers' money is being spent where there is no productivity but only administrative work that brings no benefits. What is useful about the Employment Service is only that some people are 'employed' by the Employment Service, and even they are out of work or doing bureaucratic work that is of no use.
I do not want the employees of the Job Centre to be left without jobs, but I want them to be given more concrete, more productive work, because in practice an unemployed person has NOTHING or very little from a job counsellor.
