I will write here a few preventive measures that are regularly forgotten here and only penalties are worked on, why for example in Germany a €100 fine for speeding is absolutely enough and here the €125 fines are only just beginning! 1. tighten up the sale of new cars with some safety requirements, nowadays it would be quite normal for every new car: ABS, 2 AIRBAGS, air-conditioning (according to research, even air-conditioning increases safety), additional taxation of cars that do not reach 5* according to EuroNCAP. So often we see various campaigns for cheap cars, where dealers lower prices at the expense of safety, so that you get a new car for as little as €6000 without the minimum safety requirements, which they usually keep quiet about. 2. Banning the sale of retreaded tyres and tyres that have achieved a NOT RECOMMENDED rating in tests. Slovenians are still buying a lot of Chinese tyres, and they don't even need to be Chinese, because "our" SAVA S3s have achieved a NOT RECOMMENDED rating in all European tests, and they are the best-selling tyre in our country. Not to mention the retreads and the dangers! 3. In addition to the minimum tyre profile, limit the age of the tyre! And also punish vulcanisers who fit unsuitable tyres! 4. Encourage the purchase of safety equipment such as ESP, ABS, more AIRBAGS, etc. with various subsidies. 5. Toughen up MOTs for older vehicles, because it is often the case that you know someone in the MOT department, or your personal technician knows someone and looks through his fingers! 6. Compulsory safe driving course when taking your driving licence! 7. re-take the theory part of the driving test every 10-15 years, because the rules change a lot, and even older people don't know some of the rules. Driving on the highway is a taboo subject for some older people, and God forbid you try to explain to them how to drive, because they are always right, because they are 30 years older. And these tests would be adapted so that you don't have the basics, you just have the new stuff. 8. What penalty points do we have to fiddle with, who has more of them? Why are the penalties not written in penalty points, so for example a basic penalty for just one offence would be 20€, then multiply that by your penalty points, or if you had 0 points, that penalty would apply! I think that's it for now :)
