At a time when technology is catching up with us and in some places overtaking us, I see no need for toll stations. Cars are fine anyway for paying for AC use with vignettes, it's only trucks and buses that have problems I hear.... My suggestion: when a truck or bus crosses the border into Slovenia, it gets a GPS box "behind" it, which records its position and thus the route it takes through Slovenia. When leaving the country, he returns the GPS to customs, which then assesses him a compensation for the actual use of the AC. Of course, he would also have to pay an additional penalty in case he does not drive on the AC but in towns and villages, which are already too run-down and poorly maintained anyway..... When he gets the GPS, he would key in his destination and thus be guided by the GPS through Slovenia on the shortest and fastest route. This would in effect allow the immediate removal of toll booths, which serve only to set limits and to cash in on the police.....
