It seems unfair to me that those of us who do not have a full-time job cannot be registered with the Employment Service, because we are jobseekers for the rest of our hours until full-time! Some of us do part-time work because our employer does not have a full-time job available and we want extra work. So we are available for work and are active jobseekers. I think that in these times of crisis, there will be more and more of us who work part-time and would like to work full-time. I suggest that the government should make it possible for such people to register with the job centre. I am not referring here to those who, by virtue of any decision, are not allowed to work full time. I personally worked only 18 hours a week for quite a while - it was simply the way the job was organised. But for the rest, 22 hours a week, I was prepared to take any job. It seems unfair to me that I was not on the unemployment register for that proportion, because I was actually available for work, actively looking for work, and when I found it, of course the state collected all the benefits and taxes, even though it did absolutely nothing to help me find a job that completed my full-time work. There are also many private employers who would find it too much of a financial burden to employ a 'full-time' worker, and it is difficult to get a part-time job, and the job centre can't even send a person to them, because they are not on their books! the private employer then finds someone illegally, the state doesn't get the benefits it is entitled to, and many people still don't have a full-time job, which means that they earn less, they spend less, and the state again collects less from them than it would otherwise. again. But in this crisis, any contribution, however minimal, to a better situation is welcome, is it not?
