The Movement for Decent Work and Social Society proposes to the Government that working groups of representatives of the state and the professional public be formed at the level of line ministries (list below) related to the issue of precarious work, with the aim of addressing the issue of precarious work at the level of the labour market and, consequently, preventing the increasing precarisation of the lives of the inhabitants of our country in general. The ministries and their departments we appeal to are: - Ministry of Labour, Family, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities - MDDSZ, - Ministry of Economic Development and Technology - MGRT, - Ministry of Health - MoH, - Ministry of Finance - MoF, - Ministry of Public Administration - MJU, - Council for Social Economy at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, - Labour Inspectorate of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs. For your information, insight and assistance, we are enclosing an analysis of the field and guidelines for tackling precarious work (in the current research report from the end of 2020, you will find them from page 25 onwards). In this presentation, you will get an insight into the breadth and depth of the problem of precariousness for all of us and for each of us in a concise way. We also attach the e-monograph FF, UL on which we have contributed, Presenteeism and Sick Pay for the Self-Employed, 2020, eds. G. Kovačič, on the regulation of sickness benefits for the self-employed before 30 days of absence from work due to illness and consequent incapacity for work. Available here: e-knjige.ff.uni-lj.si/scientific-research/catalog/book/235. Below are some of the most important facts about precarious work: - PRECARIOUS - a descriptor for "precarious, usually low-paid, temporary employment". Precarious work is precarious, most often non-standard work. It is an unstable type of employment for an individual*, which is reflected in her limited social, legal and economic security. - Precarious work is any work in which there are insecurities - income and/or employment insecurity, combined with other insecurities about the worker's employment and/or socio-legal situation. - The precariousness does not depend (only) on the form of work. In addition to the time component of labour activity, it is also characterised by low pay and the shifting of social security categories of employment to the individual worker (i.e. precariousness). Nowadays, no one is really safe from precariousness anymore. Women and younger and older workers are more likely to find themselves in precarious work. - PRECARISATION OF LIFE PRECARCES are defined by a kind of endless entrapment in the so-called eternal present. Precarious working conditions lead precarious women to a future that is difficult to imagine, both personally and professionally. They are defined by low social security and a life in a constant, continuous state of uncertainty. They live in a continuous present, always only in the here and now. They have neither a secure identity nor a sense of work and/or personal development. The following are some key suggestions for improving the problems in this area, from: Research Report Precarious Work and the Precarariat - Guidelines for Development, The State of Slovenia 2020, from: the first legislative and the second strategic-institutional area (pages 27-29). Attached in: the text of the proposal, Table 1/ Legislative area and Table 2 / Strategic and institutional issues. Already today, here and now, we are witnessing the slow but destructive precarisation of everyday life at the level of work, leisure, relationships and even the entities of individuals as social and societal beings. We call for collective action to improve the labour market and for solidarity for the good of us all! We also chose to use the feminine gender-neutral notation because women are a much more vulnerable group within the precariat compared to men.
