Dear Sir or Madam! In order to reduce the number of cars on Slovenian roads and consequently reduce traffic accidents and cleaner air, Slovenia should do more in the field of public passenger transport, especially Slovenian railways, which are more of a disgrace than a pride. What should be done concretely in the field of rail passenger transport: In general, public passenger transport should be subsidised in some way. We would also need better road connections, which would help us to get new intercity bus routes. Of course, all this needs to be done with both road and rail infrastructure, as is the case in Western European countries. I am aware, however, that local communities should play a major role in this, especially in the regulation of urban passenger transport.
