My proposal addresses the fact that every year there is a different number of days off work in the year, the employer provides the same number of days of leave every year, which consequently means more working days in some quarters. To even this out and to establish a constant number of days off work, I propose that public holidays that would otherwise fall on a weekend be converted into days off work, either on a Friday or on a Monday.
If a public holiday falls on a Saturday, then the day off would still be on a Friday or a Monday.
2021 is a particularly problematic year in this respect.
